1. Introduction

Welcome to I Ching AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the I Ching AI website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”), accessible at https://www.iching-ai.ren and its subdomains.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Service Description

I Ching AI provides AI-generated interpretations of the I Ching (Book of Changes), an ancient Chinese divination text, for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. Our readings are produced by an artificial intelligence model trained on classical Chinese texts and philosophical commentaries.

The Service is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind — including but not limited to medical, legal, financial, psychological, or psychiatric advice. You should not make important life decisions solely based on AI-generated readings. Always consult qualified professionals for matters requiring expert guidance.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or legal guardian's consent to use the Service.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these requirements.

4. Account Registration

Certain features of the Service — such as saving reading history across devices, subscribing to plans, and accessing subscriber-only content — require you to create an account. You may register using Google OAuth or email/password authentication.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent or abusive activity.

5. Pricing, Payment & Billing

I Ching AI offers the following pricing options:

• Quick Insight — $2.99 USD one-time payment for a fast AI reading with concise interpretation, advice, and share card.
• Deep Dive — $5.99 USD one-time payment for a comprehensive AI reading with classical citations from the Yijing, hexagram line-by-line analysis, follow-up Q&A, and detailed share card.
• Monthly Unlimited — $9.99 USD/month auto-renewing subscription for unlimited Quick Insight and Deep Dive readings. Cancel anytime.
• Yearly Unlimited — $59.99 USD/year auto-renewing subscription for unlimited readings. Save approximately 45% compared to monthly billing.
• Yearly Premium — $99.99 USD/year auto-renewing subscription including all unlimited readings plus trend reports, reading journey chart, annual reflection report, and early access to new features.

All payments are processed securely through PayPal, our authorized payment processor. By making a purchase, you agree to PayPal's terms and conditions. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details.

All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD) and may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your location. PayPal handles tax collection and remittance where required by law.

6. Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal

Monthly Unlimited, Yearly Unlimited, and Yearly Premium plans are subscription-based and automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as applicable) unless cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through PayPal's customer portal or by contacting our support team. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have access to subscriber features until that date. No partial refunds are provided for mid-period cancellations unless required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period and will only take effect upon your next renewal. You will be notified of any price changes before they apply to your subscription.

7. Refunds

Our refund policy is detailed in full on our Refund Policy page. In summary:

• Single-reading purchases: First-time buyers are eligible for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase if unsatisfied with the reading.
• Subscription purchases: You may request a refund within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase if you have not used the Service extensively during that period.
• Renewal charges: Refunds for auto-renewal charges are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Submit questions or content that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or to circumvent any security or authentication measures.
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access or extract data from the Service without our express written permission.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks connected to the Service.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any AI-generated content from the Service without our prior written consent.
• Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organization.

9. Intellectual Property

Our Content: The I Ching AI website, its design, source code, branding, logos, graphics, and all original content (excluding AI-generated readings) are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

AI-Generated Readings: Content produced by our AI model in response to your questions is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share individual readings via our built-in share card feature or through personal social media. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute AI-generated readings as a standalone product or service.

User Content: By submitting questions or other content to the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and store that content solely to provide and improve the Service. You retain all ownership rights in the questions you submit.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services, including but not limited to:

• PayPal — payment processing and subscription management.
• DeepSeek API — AI model inference for generating readings.
• Supabase — database hosting and authentication services.
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.

We are not responsible for the content, functionality, or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free at all times.
• AI-generated readings will be accurate, complete, reliable, or meaningful.
• Any errors or defects in the Service will be corrected.

I Ching AI readings are generated by machine learning models that may produce inconsistent, inaccurate, or nonsensical output. You use the Service at your own risk and discretion.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, I CHING AI, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

• Your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Decisions or actions taken based on AI-generated readings.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
• Any conduct or content of any third party on or through the Service.

Our aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US Dollars ($100.00).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless I Ching AI and its operators, affiliates, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party rights, or (d) any content you submit to the Service.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, effective immediately. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, chargeback abuse, or extended inactivity.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request a copy of your data within thirty (30) days of termination. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.

16. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide reasonable notice — such as a prominent notice on our website or an email to registered users — before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.

17. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and I Ching AI regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
• Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control.
